Since its establishment 2003 the Innsbruck Forum on International Relations stands for its independence as an international IR-platform. Also we are strongly connected with other IR-groupings like the ISRG (International Security Research Group), IFIR offers an – and therefore assures its scientific quality with an – unique academic background with the Department of Political Science at the University of Innsbruck.

We focus on scientific exchange and information in all our sub-ranges, which means that IFIR is run by and for students and junior-academics. IFIR is devoted to the independent exchange of international affairs, intelligence and economics views and all interdependent information and discourse in the field of International Relations. Our primary focus is the new web site journal, which we call by its primary function: IFIR Focus.

With contemporary and additional features the IFIR website is an information-platform which provides space for personal scientific papers, review copies, tutorials, link-lists and up-to-the-minute information on open posts and events in the area of International Relations. With its features IFIR is aligned to students and young-academics and their scientific needs for papers and presentations, in order to help, to support and to serve as a contact point for successful scientific operating principles in Political Science and its special field of International Relations.
